The procedure is based on the skin\u2019s very own regenerative capacity: A dermapen (pen) equipped with numerous short needles is moved over the area of skin to be treated. The tiny needles cause a large quantity of very superficial \u2018puncture wounds\u2019 but leave the deeper skin layers untouched. The skin cells, subsequently, are encouraged to produce collagen which \u2018rejuvenates\u2019 the skin. The effects become visible after a few weeks. The healing process can be accelerated by adding sera such as hyaluronic acid.<br \/>\nFor cosmetic needling, we use a pen with a depth of 0.25 to 1.5 mm.
